LSVT Loud® is an evidence-based treatment with demonstrated clinical efficacy that improves speech in patients with Parkinson’s Disease. The focus of this treatment is to directly treat vocal loudness, with evidence of improvement to articulation, intonation, vocal quality, facial expression, and swallow function.

Nicole is also passionate about supporting clients who stutter. She works with preschool-aged, school-aged, teenagers, and adult clients who stutter. Nicole understands that each of these age groups require different approaches and styles of therapy. Furthermore, she also understands that each individual who stutters is unique and that a personalized and holistic therapy plan must be tailored to meet their communication goals. Nicole is certified in Lidcombe, an evidence-based stuttering therapy program for preschool children developed by the Australian Stuttering Research Institute. She incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), and Avoidance Reduction Therapy for Stuttering (ARTS).

Nicole’s approach to therapy is rooted in her empathy towards every client and their family members. She is passionate about supporting her clients with their communication and swallowing goals. She recognizes the significance communication and swallowing plays on her clients’ life participation and prioritizes her clients’ needs accordingly. She believes that therapy should to the highest extent possible fit the needs of daily life, be practical, and rewarding! Nicole enjoys the collaborative process in her role and celebrates her clients’ unique abilities and goals.
