Volunteer

Mia is currently a student majoring in Speech Sciences at the University of British Columbia, with hopes to enter the Speech-Language Pathology field after obtaining her undergraduate degree. So far, Mia has had volunteer experience in the speech language pathology and audiology fields in a clinical setting at VGH as well as with services through the Coquitlam school district.

She takes a special interest in syntax, speech production, and reading comprehension, to name a few. In the future, Mia wishes to help others to strengthen their skills in these areas and to see them succeed!

To become more involved in her communities, Mia worked as an assistant farmers market manager, currently volunteers with Advantage SLP, and will take on the secretary position with the UBC Knit & Sew Club in the upcoming school year.

In her free time, Mia likes to crochet, read, listen to (and write!) songs, snowboard, or spend time with friends and family.
